About Us
The Americas Network on Nationality and Statelessness (Red ANA) brings together civil society organizations, academic centers, and individual experts across the region to prevent and end statelessness, and to protect the rights of people who lack a recognized nationality.
Red ANA was founded in 2015, when organizations and experts from across the Americas met for the first time at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in Washington, DC, together with representatives from UNHCR and the governments of Chile and Brazil. Since then, the network has worked together to ensure no country in the region leaves its people without a nationality.
We keep track of the situation of statelessness across the region, send regular newsletters, and share advocacy opportunities among our members.
We host webinars, country-level meetings, and an annual conference where members from across the region exchange experiences and strategies.
We amplify the work of our members and, when needed, issue joint statements on urgent cases of statelessness in the region.
Red ANA is made up of non-governmental organizations, university research centers, and individual experts —from civil society and academia alike— committed to protecting stateless people across the Americas.
