Gender Discrimination in nationality laws is one of the primary causes of statelessness worldwide. While this form of legal discrimination has been mostly eradicated from the Americas, a small number of countries persist in denying women and men equal rights to confer nationality. During this webinar, the Campaign Manager of the new Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights – of which the Red ANA is a coalition member – will provide an overview of the link between gender discrimination in nationality laws and statelessness, as well as provide an introduction to the Global Campaign. Opportunities for ANA members and the Global Campaign to collaborate to combat statelessness worldwide will also be discussed.
